Rochester Rotary Club RotoScoop for August 1, 2017
 
New Club President Ron DiLiddo opened the meeting at 12:10.  He led 57 members and 4 guests in the Pledge of Allegiance. Paula serenaded us and we all sang God Bless America. Ron led us to recite the four way test and and Ray Doer delivered the invocation while giving thanks for the Club's 2017-18 goals and objectives.

HAPPY BUCKS
Linda Eastman was happy for an upcoming family reunion at Interlochen. Kelly Dean, whose oldest daughter is getting married at Great Oaks. Jay Eastman was grateful for the tremendous efficiency of the Rochester Police?
Tom Delpup celebrated the re-branding of Crittenton Hospital ---> Acension Crittenton Hospital. Rene Cortright finally has the daughter that she always wanted -her son got married. Rhonda Panczyk enjoyed Rotary in Rome, Italy. Kevin Brown was happy that his son was pursuing his Eagle Scout badge. Bryan Barnett was happy that Michigan passed the Good Jobs Package.

Tim Duncan sold out Tiger Outing Tuesday August 22nd 7:10 PM  against the NY Yanks
Jay Eastman reminded us of the Famous Golf Ball Drop at the Indianwood Golf outing 9/19/17.  Will you be the $5000 winner? Mike Kelly reminded all to also sign-up for the annual golf tournament same day and location.
 
SONGS
Bob Lytle led us in The Meeting Song and Sing Out A Song Foe Rotary.
 
SHERIFF
Sheriff Steve Shettenhelm raised $182 for our scholarship funds. You got gigged for Boondoogling, if you did not know what a "repast" was(look at song lyrics), who was the original MTV host (VJ) and if you ignored clown day.
 
PROGRAM:
President Ron introduced John Somerville who shared a really beautiful video that he made while we had one of our summer meetings at Rotary Park. All Rotarians felt proud of the small slice of Heaven that we have helped create in downtown Rochester.
Next Ron introduced the Club Officers for 2017-18:
Ron DiLiddo-President; Rodney Hulbert-President Elect; Wayne Hodges-President Nominee; Immediate Past President Tom Neveau; Jeff Whitbey-Secretary; Ron Lichtle-Assistant Secretary; Vince Mattina-Treasurer; David Eardley-Assistant Treasurer; Directors Ray Doerr, Tim Duncan, Ann Peterson and Karen Krieger.
Ron then introduced Charities President Rhonda Panczyk who introduced the Charities Board for 2017-18:
Rhonda Panczyk-President; Immediate Past President Jay Eastman; Assistant Treasurer David Eardley; Directors Eric Whipple, Kelly Dean, Al Jones and Alan McLellan.
President Ron then reviewed his committee assignments, annual objectives and proposed budget. Details are available on the Club website.
All past activities have been retained with an objective of adding a net of three members this year and attaining involvement of 80% of all members in at least one activity. The new fundraisers this year will be a "Christmas Cookie Walk" chaired by Linda Eastman and a "Master Golf Tournament Raffle". A new service activity has been added this year, an African Water Project More to come on 15AU17. Last but not least, the Interact Rochester High School Scholarship Budget has been raised to $15,000 plus a $2000 OU Rotaract scholarship to be awarded
 
President Ron closed the meeting at 1:30 pm sharp.
