Casa Colibri, Oakland University and Rotary Collaboration- Changes Lives in Guatemala

A local Rotary Club has supported a medical, literacy  and clean water mission in the mountains of Guatemala for the past 15 years. The mission has grown to include six rural communities, one of which now has a permanent medical facility and a mobile support vehicle. Rotary medical volunteers noticed that infants born in certain villages had extremely high incidence and really severe mid facial deformities. Networking through a university in their home town, Rotarians found a medical student, who had formerly been a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, that was interested in studying this phenomena. Come and learn how a simple application of good science, lots of love and hard work completely changed life for these infants.
