SHERIFF'S REPORT

PROGRAM

Dr. Robert Shaner led our program today with a wonderful presentation on Rochester Community Schools. It was a challenging year unlike any before in the academic world. Dr. Shaner was proud of the leadership the school district showed, being the first to close down and earliest to prepare for online learning. They quickly established a food service program and the virtual campus was set up in 6 months all in house. RCS was also the first to open back up for full day in person learning and were able to host a graduation and prom.

Through his Marine connections, Dr. Shaner was able to set up a Covid testing center at the school. Oakland county has a high vaccination rate and masks will be optional.

The administration building will hopefully be moving to their new location on Dequindre in the coming months. They have honored the building they are in for as long as they can and hope to put it towards good use in the future.

Traffic engineering is always a goal to improve with the drop offs and pick ups of students at the schools.

While Covid brought challenges it also allowed the school to adapt a different approach to education allowing content to be delivered at any time.

We are still on the look for a forever meeting home.
