President Wayne Hodges opened the virtual meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, then we recited the modified Four Way Test. The invocation was given by Jay Eastman, discussing a letter to Winston Churchill from his brother. Specifically, the letter discussed our great nation's ability to come together, even with our incredibly diverse cultural and philosophical backgrounds, we will prevail. Virtual lunch was served.

There were 42 Rotarians present, and three guests: Jason, Yolanda Udel, and Jennifer Lundy.
15th HANDSHAKE
President Wayne announced to the club that Dick Spiess earned the 15th logon (handshake) this week, enjoy the week without fines Dick!
HAPPY BUCKS
There were many virtual happy bucks given during the meeting, please take a look at the recorded Zoom meeting to see!
President Wayne was happy that Hap Walton made it through a bicycling accident with the help of Glen Garwood, thanks very much!
President Wayne was also happy to be holding this virtual meeting with the help of John Somerville, thanks so much for your help John, we couldn't do this without you.
ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK
Juliane Morian gave the bejeweled trophy to Bill Ebinger simply for being an all around great Rotarian (and champion of Rotary Gateway Park). Congrats Bill!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
President Wayne discussed the Master's Golf Outing Raffle occurring on October 27th. The Masters will be taking place on November 14th and 15th this fall. Tim Crawford still has a few tickets left, please help us sell this event out!
Bill Ebinger came to the (virtual) podium to speak about the gazebo project in Rotary Gateway Park. He was able to get the concrete slab poured pre-COVID-19 (March 17th), and the materials have been delivered. We are currently waiting on the Governor to clear us for building. Here is an image of a constructed gazebo:
BIRTHDAYS AND CLUB ANNIVERSARIES
We had three birthdays this week, Amy Converse on April 20th, Rodney Hulbert on April 22nd, and Bryan Barnett, April 22nd.
We also had two anniversaries, Dale Hetrick (April 24th, two years) and Rodney Hulbert (April 26th, nine years).
Yes, this is a challenging time. But, we are Rotarians, we will rise to the challenge, and our resilience and power of adaptation will prevail over this. Thanks everyone, have a great week.
