Kim Staudacher and Lisa Friedrich of Dutton Farms provided our program. They are a change agent, designed to create new paths for adults with developmental disabilities by supporting their purpose, inclusion, and dignity. Dutton Farms provides opportunity, accommodation, inclusivity, equality, and meaningful activities through curriculum alignment adult education, community involvement and workforce development by way of farming. They chose farming because it brings skills into play including consistency, nurturance, and attention to detail. The participants have learned skills and gained therapy through animal care, they give back to the community with programs such as Fleece and Thank you, and are provided the support necessary to join the workforce if they so chose. You can support this amazing program right in our community by bringing awareness to all they provide and reaching out if you know a business that would be willing to provide a job.
