SHERIFF'S REPORT
Today's sheriff's report was brought to us by Peter Stuhlreyer who fined us in twos. All fines collected support Rotary Scholarships. Thank you!
Angela Delpup gave us an informative presentation on Ascension Providence Rochester and the amazing things they have in the works. As they move past what is hopefully the bulk of the COVID 19 impact, they are now working on staffing and organizing the resources that were originally redirected to support covid efforts. Ascension strives to be a health provider that can provide any service you need as a part of a national health system.
Ascension Providence Rochester has made significant investments to enhance their medical capabilities including $4.9 million into an angio lab replacement, $500,000 into their emergency room, and $1.5 million into their patient care areas. These investments have brought greater support to behavioral health patients, top of the line diagnostic techniques, and technology that has made the impossible possible for patients. One example is their deep brain stimulation, a type of pacemaker for the brain that has helped patients with OCD and given back Parkinsons patients 6 hours of their day.
With 50% of their patients over the age of 65, Ascension Providence Rochester has an enhanced senior focus supported by the four Ms: What matters, medication, mentation, and mobility.
The hospital is working hard to make a difference in the stigma associated with mental health by creating a community of kindness. It is their goal to log 1 million acts of kindness by June. As Rotarians we hope to be a part of that growth in kindness.
