SHERIFF'S REPORT
Today's sheriff's report was brought to us by Peter Stuhlreyer who handed out Lent fines totaling in $195. All fines collected support Rotary Scholarships. Thank you!
Walter, an Oakland University Master's Student from the Ukraine, provided our program today. Walter provided a moving first hand experience of how the war in the Ukraine has effected Students at OU as well as people in the country. His family has taken in a family from effected areas as many of their neighbors have done. Beyond worrying about their families, Ukrainian students are tasked with finding out where they will live and how they will support themselves over the summer when the semester ends. Many are hoping to be approved for emergency work visas as their plan was to return to a home over the summer that is no longer feasible. Living by the quote, "The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing" Walter and other OU students have band together to bring information on how to support those effected by the war. We are so grateful for the opportunity to hear this perspective. Anyone who wishes to support these students can reach out to David Archbold or Charities President Ron Diliddo.
