President Wayne Hodges opened the virtual meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, then we recited the modified Four Way Test.  The invocation was given by Juliane Morian, asking for help to allow us to listen, and welcome all, beseeching , remembering those who served, and asking for strength to continue to do what Rotarians are best at.  Virtual lunch was served.

There were 43 Rotarians present, and three guests:  Colleen Burtka, Kelly Dean, and Wendy Jones.

President Wayne announced to the club Linda Eastman earned the 15th logon (handshake) this week, enjoy the week without fines Linda!
There were many virtual happy bucks given during the meeting, here is a sampling:

My happy buck is a $20 happy buck. Last year during the habitat for humanity dinner was a very sad day for me. As a rotary member I was excited to support. While there I had 2 families come to me and congratulate me on my new home as if I was the recipient. I was the only person of color at that fundraiser. When the third couple approached us they kneeled down to my 13 year old daughter and congratulated her on her new home and asked about her children. He was referring to her 3 younger siblings. At this point I left. I considered leaving rotary feeling like I didn’t belong. Of course this was not my only experience, just mine with rotary. This past week there has been a lot of sorrow realized around the world and it breaks my heart but my happy buck today is for the love I’ve seen. The love I’ve received from some of my rotary members this week and the love I’ve seen around the world has fed part of my soul that I was ignoring. I have hope for my beautiful children and their future.
From lindameastman to Everyone:  12:17 PM
RACHEL, I AM SO GLAD YOU STAYED!! I completely love you and your kids! I can’t imagine Rotary without you!!!
From Rachel to Everyone:  12:17 PM
THank you so much Linda <#
From Andrew Aikens to Everyone:  12:17 PM
That was very beautiful Rachel!  You're a huge part of our club!
Linda Eastman gave the Rotarian of the Week award to David Eardley.  David has been a beacon of light during this pandemic for her, hence her choice.  Congrats David!
President Wayne spoke about our Master's Golf Outing Raffle, we still have about twenty tickets left, let's sell it out.  If anyone has access to a golf course, please see John Somerville to post a flyer.
Wayne Hodges then spoke a bit about our Phoenix Project, and how everything has changed (referencing Pearl Harbor).  Out of the ashes, Rotary will rise, and thrive.  If you have an opportunity, please take a look at the e-mail President Elect Ron sent out.
We had two birthdays this week, Jeff Duperon June 3rd, and Bill Ebinger June 5th, happy birthday!
We also had one club anniversary today:  Pat Dubey on June 6th.

Wendy Jones then spoke to us about Next Steps 4 Seniors, seniors response to COVID-19.  Their mission to offer support financially, assist physically, and share spiritually is continuing throughout the pandemic.  Great to see this, bringing hope and faith to our most vulnerable population.  Thank you so much for your presentation Wendy.

Yes, this is a challenging time.  But, we are Rotarians, we will rise to the challenge, and our resilience and power of adaptation will prevail over this.  Thanks everyone, have a great week.
