ANNOUNCEMENTS
Jay Eastman spoke about our efforts to combat Polio throughout the world.  In particular, he reminded us to not "take our foot off the gas", we are that close.  Our district itself gave $30k last year, the most of any district in our zone.  Keep going!  Anyone interested in joining him at the Foundation Dinner on November 2nd in Plymouth, please see him.  Otherwise, he's stuck with Wayne.
Ethan spoke briefly about the job shadow program.
Bill Ebinger then spoke about Rotary Park Cleanup, Saturday, October 26th, 9am.  If you can help, please show up!

No birthdays today.
Two club anniversaries, Jay Eastman and Christine Hage, October 1st.

SONGS

SHERIFF'S REPORT
David Blair then fined everyone, truly.  Picking on people that can or can't read, Rotarian authors, and anyone that enjoys kid jokes, he raised a total of $274 for our charities, nicely done!

PROGRAM
David Eardley then introduced our speaker of the day, R.J. King.  Mr. King enthralled the group with multiple stories incorporated into his book, Detroit:  Engine of America.  Great talk, and a very good book.  If you haven't read it, very worthwhile.  Thanks very much for speaking to us!
