Rochester Rotary Club RotoScoop
July 9th, 2019

President Wayne Hodges opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, we sang, "The Star Spangled Banner," and then we recited the modified Four Way Test.  David Eardley gave the invocation.  We then had a short discussion regarding "He profits most who serves best", the second most popular Rotarian motto.  There were 55 members and no guests present.

Jeff Whitbey discussed the make-up policy of the club, if you happen to be out of town, make sure you look up the local rotary club at your location, and that visit counts towards your club attendance.

HAPPY BUCKS
Jerry Carvey went to the Loch Ness Rotary Club in Scotland, after renting a castle and spending a week there with several participants and their families in the rotary youth programs.

Mary Ann Reidinger gave thanks to the support from the club for the loss of her husband Al, it means the world to her.
Bryan Barnett announced a local swearing in ceremony at Oakland University for his inauguration as President of the United States Conference  of Mayors, a great honor Bryan!

15th HANDSHAKE
Chief Schettenhelm received the honors... congrats Steve!  There was a quick discussion regarding David Walker and speculation regarding traffic tickets, but otherwise, well deserved!

ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK
Mel Gay bestowed the bejeweled trophy upon Jeff Whitbey... congrats Jeff!  Please keep in mind that this sparkling porcelain honor will not work as a trombone cup mute.

PROGRAM
President Wayne gave a presentation about his goals and aspirations for the coming year.  His thoughts on Rotary's six areas of focus and how comprehensive they are at helping people, put everything in place for how he hopes the year will go.  Given the amount of organization apparent in the presentation regarding structure, calendar, and budget, this year should be a huge success for the club.  Great job Wayne!
