President Wayne Hodges opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegience, then we sang America the Beautiful, and recited the modified Four Way Test. The invocation was given by David Eardley, who gave thanks for our presentation today, and the power of serving, being those that step forward and not run away. Lunch was served.
ATTENDANCE
We had 49 rotarian's in attendance, and nine guests, Bill Van Loven, Jim Kennedy (previous Rotarian), Frank DePetris, Gino Petitta, Andrew Taravella, Joe Thilman, Jason Brainer, Jen Norstrand, and Mike French.
15th HANDSHAKE
David Walker was proud to announce that Jay Eastman was the winner of this week's 15th Handshake award, enjoy the week without fines Jay!
HAPPY BUCKS
Vito Pampalona was excited about having a book signing for his book through Barnes and Noble on Veteran's Day at their Rochester Hills location from 6-8pm.
ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK
Russ Shelton then gave out the bejeweled trophy to Bryan Barnett, enjoy your week without fines Bryan!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tom Neveau brought the meeting to order for Rochester Rotary Charities, and requested a vote to authorize $5,000 to Casa Colibri. The vote was passed unanimously, and the check was dispersed to Linda Eastman.
Marty Pavlick made an announcement regarding our job shadow program coming up on November 19th. He was very thankful to the Rotarian's that have stepped up to host our local students. Anyone that has volunteered, please keep an eye out for communication from any interested students regarding the event.
Jay Eastman then spoke about District 6380's gala foundation event this coming Saturday on November 2nd at Fox Hill's Country Club.
Tom Neveau then spoke about our exchange student, he will be returning back to Spain. We need a volunteer to meet at the Rochester Hills Public Library this coming Monday to meet anyone interested in our exchange program.
Steve Oehler then spoke about the poinsettia program, get out and sell plants! Rachel Aviles then gave a quick demonstration for online purchasing, very easy (even Phil can do it!).
BIRTHDAYS AND CLUB ANNIVERSARIES

Greg Schaefer and Dick Spiess celebrated their club anniversaries this week.

The velvet tones of Bob Lytle then led us in two songs, Let There Be Peace On Earth and the Air Force Song. Thanks Bob!
SHERIFF'S REPORT
Bryan Barnett then fined everyone, ranging from pacifist tendencies (or not so much), David Walker (happy birthday!), poinsettia sale requirements, election season, Halloween (and costumes), make sure you vote next Tuesday! Bryan raised $200 for our charities, thank you Bryan!
PROGRAM
David Eardley then introduced our speaker of the day, John Wukowitz. John wrote 'Soldiers of a Different Cloth', a story about five Notre Dame Chaplains performing their ministry in the European Theatre of World War II. Very enlightening talk, specifically about how the world would be if everyone did what they were supposed to do. None of his subjects was out for glory, they just did what they were supposed to do. Exceptional talk, thanks for speaking to us today John.
