DIA Community Engagement Manager Colleen McNamara will provide a brief overview of the DIA's work in the surrounding communities, as well as benefits available to all tri-county residents, followed by a presentation of  “The Art of Conservation” by Barbara Heller, DIA Director & Conservator of Special Projects. Barbara Heller's talk will delve into the ongoing scientific and scholarly research that lies at the heart of the Detroit Institute of Arts Conservation and Curatorial activities.

Cindy Miller is an award-winning leadership consultant and trainer who helps people build the confidence to have the right conversations with the right people—so work becomes more productive, more human, and a lot more enjoyable. She’s an Executive Director with the Maxwell Leadership Team, licensed to teach John Maxwell’s award-winning leadership content, and has facilitated a leadership program recognized with a Brandon Hall Group Silver Award. Married with two adult children, Cindy prefers real books over Kindles, believes chocolate deserves its own food group, and is committed to leaving people more confident, capable, and inspired than they were before working with her.

Kevin is a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and the author of the upcoming book The Invisible Veteran: Rediscovering Purpose, Identity, and Connection After Service, which releases May 26, 2026.

He is focused on leadership, service, and helping veterans rediscover purpose after military service.
